Akron Tops Bowie, 4-2; Baysox Keep 1 1/2-Game Lead for Playoffs
Richmond loses second game of DH to let Bowie remain 1 1/2 games up for wild-card spot
Bowie couldn't do much offensively and gave Akron a little too much as the Aeros pulled out a 4-2 victory Tuesday night.
But the Baysox (70-58) got a break when Richmond (69-60) lost the second game of its doubleheader with Altoona. That let Bowie keep a 1 1/2-game lead over Richmond for the Western Division's final playoff spot.
Bowie remains 1 1/2 games behind Harrisburg in the battle for first place. The Baysox and Richmond both have 13 games left but don't play each other any more.

A three-run fifth inning gave Akron a 4-0 lead. Starter Bobby Bundy (1-3) couldn't throw enough strikes, and he hit one batter and walked another in the fifth before coming out. Both of those runners scored.
Akron also scored a run earlier in the game on a Bowie error and finished with only two RBI.
