Tulip Grove Elementary PTA Honors Volunteers

Seven parents were honored for hundreds of hours of volunteer service in the 2011-2012 school year.

The PTA honored seven volunteers with the President’s Volunteer Service Award for giving hundreds of hours of service to the school during the 2011-2012 school years, according to a press release.

According to the release, volunteers gave more than 2,500 hours in support of the PTA and the school during the last school year.

For performing more than 100 hours of service last year, Stephanie Kircher, Erik Kornmeyer, Carmie Naleski and Dawn Weaver earned the Bronze Level award. Stacy Kornmeyer, Lori Morrow and Lindsey Ricketts were awarded the Silver Level for each giving more than 250 volunteer hours.

“Parent participation is not just important, it is essential in our work as a school community,” Brian Baudoin, Principal of Tulip Grove Elementary School, said in a prepared statement. “We are proud and honored to have these President’s Volunteer Service Award honorees as members of our Tulip Grove family. We thank and recognize them and all of our parent and community volunteers for their contribution of service.”

The President’s Volunteer Service Award is a national award that was established in 2003 and is given annually to parents or family members who meet or exceed volunteer requirements, according to the press release.
