Students Take to Twitter to Denounce PG Schools On-Time Start

Prince George's County Public School students are voicing their displeasure over classes starting as normal Feb. 26 as the snow falls.

Students were using Twitter Wednesday morning to trash a decision by the Prince George's County Public Schools to start classes as normal while the snow falls.

Some were posting photos of car accidents on metro roads. While some of the comments merely questioned the wisdom of not delaying classes, others were profane and threatened to sue if they were injured in a fall. And most seemed to agree the schedule couldn't change today because juniors are taking the SAT.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the entire Washington, D.C., and Baltimore regions until noon Wednesday.

Up to 3 inches of snow is possible in some areas, but most forecasts are calling for 1 to 2 inches in the immediate metro area.

Snowfall totals so far are 2 inches in College Park, 1.5 in Rockville and 1.5 in Bethesda, according to The Washington Post’s Capital Weather Gang.
