Public Can Speak Out on Proposed School Boundary Changes Feb. 18

Parents and students can comment on proposed school boundary and program changes in the Prince George's school system at a Feb. 18 meeting.

Boundaries would change for at least two Prince George’s County Public Schools – Hyattsville Elementary and Barack Obama Elementary in Upper Marlboro – under a proposal school board members are considering.

Residents can find details about possible boundary and grade changes on the school system’s website, plus maps that outline the boundary changes for Hyattsville and Barack Obama schools.

Other changes would shift STEM programs, expand Spanish immersion programs and add courses for academically gifted and struggling students at some county schools. Some parents and students have concerns about being sent to different schools.
