Students from Bowie High School were given $7.2 million.

Students in the Prince George's County Class of 2011 have been awarded $82,914,485 in scholarships this past school year. Students from Bowie High School were awarded $7.2 million as a class, the third most in the county.

"I am extremely proud of the Class of 2011 for all they have achieved this year,"
said Dr. William R. Hite, Jr., Superintendent of Schools in a release. "Many of our students will be going on to attend college this fall, some will be entering the workforce after earning professional licenses and certifications through our Career and Technical Education programs, and others will be going on to pursue careers in the armed forces."

Central High School senior Nevasha Noble earned more than $1 million in scholarships alone, and will be attending New York University (NYU) this fall on a full scholarship.

Scholarship award totals in 19 of 25 schools exceeded $1 million, and the following schools topped the list with the amount of scholarship funds earned by their senior class, with Bowie earning the third most among county schools.
