Last Chance: Scholarship Deadlines and Camp for Future Engineers

A few deadlines you won't want to miss.

The Washington DC chapter of the Armed Forces Communications & Electronics Association (AFCEA DC) is offering four scholarships to college students in Prince George’s County, and the deadline is this Wednesday, April 25.

Up for grabs are two, two-year, $8,000 scholarships and one three-year $12,000 scholarships to current high school seniors entering four-year universities.  They are also offering one, one-year $4,000 scholarship for students leaving two-year community college programs and entering a four-year university. Applications for SPICE Camp (Students with Potential and Interest, Considering Engineering) are due on Friday, April 27. The camp will be open to just 20 girls in grades nine through 12 and is a joint effort between the Women in Engineering Program and the Center for Minorities in Science and Engineering. Camp dates are June 18-22, 2012. The cost of the camp, which runs from June 18-22, is $300 but some financial assistance may be available. The full application can be found here.

The Prince George's County Municipal Association scholarship deadline is Monday, April 30. All Prince George’s County residents from Bowie and Upper Marlboro who meet the established eligibility guidelines may apply. Countywide scholarship selection will be made at the end of May.
