A driver-less Prince George's County Public Schools bus hit a child waiting at a bus stop Monday morning at about 7:15 a.m., according to police.

Police spokeswoman Officer Nicole Hubbard told FOX 5 DC that the driver left students unattended on the bus in front of High Point High School on Monday morning and the bus drifted across Powder Mill Road. The bus then hit an elementary school-aged child waiting at a bus stop.

Hubbard says two children, including the child struck at the bus stop, were taken to an area hospital with injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening. Several other children who were on the bus were taken to area hospitals for observation.
