City of Bowie Names March, April Teachers of the Month

Bowie elementary school teachers Cathy Smith and Rebecca Feng were honored for their accomplishments in the classroom.

Two teacher were honored by the city of bowie this week for their innovation and accomplishments in the class room.

Physical education teacher Cathy Smith, who teaches at Kenliworth Elementary School, was named teacher of the month for March by the city's education committee.

According to a parent of one of Smith's students, "this teacher makes students aware of how to live a health lifestyle with variety and innovation."

Rockledge Elementary School music teacher Rebecca Feng, was also honored for her accomplishments and named teacher of the month for April.

Feng's fellow teachers describe her as "kind and thoughtful who creates a fun-loving learning environment. This ensure that the Rockledge Elementary School has the best rocking school in Bowie."

Each teacher will receive a gift certificate for dinner for two to the Texas Roadhouse Grill, five large pizzas from T.J. Elliots to share with their homeroom classes, and a check for $50 from the city of Bowie.
