The Snowflake Tea is a Time of Socializing and Sharing for Bowie Residents and Beyond

The Snowflake Tea at the Belair Mansion in Bowie offers another way to usher in the Christmas occasion.

The Snowflake Tea gathered family and friends at the to kick-off the holiday season. The tea brought together residents of Bowie as well as from outside the city limits for an opportunity of food and fellowship.

"This is our first time attending the Snowflake Tea but we are really excited to be here. We're looking forward to touring the mansion and checking out the gift shop," said Patricia Myers, the Queen of the Northern Senior Activities Center of St. Mary's County's Rockin Red Hatters.

The Rockin Red Hatters get together all throughout the year to attend community fundraisers, cruises, conferences and local teas.

"We love to get together and this event in particular was one we all have been really looking forward too" said Myers.

The Snowflake Tea also brought together families for a pre-Christmas celebration.

Diana Worth, of Calvert County, came to the tea with her two grandsons, Robert and Matthew Evans.

"This is year number two for us. We really enjoyed it last year so we thought it would be great do it again this year. I use it as an opportunity for the boys to give me a Christmas present. I really just enjoy having the quality time with them," said Worth.

The event offered is attendees various types of teas as well as sandwiches.

The manager of historic properties for the city of Bowie, and the tea maker of the hour, Pam Williams  was the organizer of the Snowflake Tea.

"We typically have teas focused around holidays. In the spring we have a tea event for children. We also offer private teas for parties of 30 or more," said Williams.
