Run by the City of Bowie, Alert Bowie is designed to keep residents informed of important and sometimes critical happenings in the city. City staff regularly send out alerts to inform residents of tornadoes, sever thunderstorms or other types of dangerous weather.
Alerts are also sent for hazmat situations, serious car accidents that impact traffic, crime alerts, or to let residents know when traffic lights are not working properly.
