Public Hearing Monday on City Redistricting

The hearing will be held 8 p.m. Monday in the Council Chambers at City Hall.

The Bowie City Council is considering two alternatives regarding council districts that will affect the next city election in November 2013.

The council districts are evaluated every ten years to ensure the population of each district is substantially equal. The alternatives being considered are:

  • To retain the existing configuration of the districts. 
  • To adjust the boundaries of District 2 and District 3, such that the communities of Long Ridge, Westview, Spring Meadows and Dixon Crossing would move from District 3 to District 2.
