MEETING PREVIEW: Proclamations, Derecho Report

Several resolutions and a special report from city staff are on the agenda.

The Bowie City Council and mayor will be holding a regular legislative meeting at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the city hall.

The consent agenda has several items up for approval, including proclamations for Constitution Week and National Preparedness Month, three resolutions and other items.

There also will be a public hearing on an ordinance to repeal Article 1 of Chapter 24 of the City Code “Credit for Senior Citizens,” and establish a supplemental tax credit in the City Code. Two other resolutions also will be introduced during the meeting.

City staff also will provide the mayor and council an "after-action report” regarding the June 29 derecho.

The mayor and city council also are expected to go into a closed session to consult with counsel on a legal matter.
