City Hall Open Monday, More Than 8000 in Bowie Without Power

BGE is reporting 40% of their customers are out of power, yard waste rules will be relaxed and pickup may occur at any time throughout the week.

City Hall Open on Monday:

Bowie's City Hall will be open during normal business hours tomorrow, but because of rain damage to the lobby and police department lobby, those area will be closed to the public and employees until they are repaired, according to a statement from the city. 

Speed camera fines can be paid at the finance window, as the administrative office of the police department will be closed to the public.

Refuse and recycling will be collected on its normal schedule staring on Monday.

Yard Waste Rules Relaxed:

The rules for yard waste have been relaxed, but residents should still bring tree debris to the curb for pickup.

The ciy also asks that limbs and trees be cut to manageable size and bundled or put in a trash can (50 pound limit). Pickup may occur at any time during the week.

Power Outages:

BGE is reporting that almost 40 percent of their customers are without power. In Prince George's County, 22,318 customers are out of power and in Bowie 8200 customers are still without power, 4400 have been restored since Irene started. PEPCO is reporting 93,126 Prince George's County customers without power.
