UPDATED: City Government Communications Restored

Phones and email went dead Wednesday and Verizon hasn't said why, according to officials.

UPDATED (Dec. 15)—Phone, email and web service was restored to the Bowie City government shortly before 10 a.m. Thursday.

Verizon service went down at Bowie City Hall on Wednesday. The city government worked assertively with Verizon to have service restored, said city spokeswoman Una Cooper.

“We don’t know how it happened,” said Cooper. “Verizon has not given us an adequate explanation. We don’t understand why our service couldn’t have been re-routed.”
