Springdale Man Charged with Assault in Incident at Walmart

Police have identified the suspect as 26-year-old Troy Gray of Springdale in the cutting incident at Walmart.

Updated reports from police revealed that this morning near the Walmart on Crain Highway escalated when the older man—who has now been identified as 26-year-old Troy Diandre Gray of Citrus Lane in Springdale—allegedly pulled a box cutter on the victim and sliced him along his neck. The cause of the altercation is unknown.

According to police, the victim ran into the store to try to get help and was followed by Gray who continued to argue with the victim. Gray then allegedly chased the victim back outside, but he was able to escape as Walmart's loss prevention held the suspect until Bowie Police arrived and arrested him.

Gray was taken to the Bowie Police Station and was then transported to the Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro after being interviewed and is being charged with first and second degree assault.
