Brochu was initially arrested in early August after a victim came forward. He was released on bond, only to be rearrested a few days later when two more victims came forward with sex abuse allegations. Brochu was released on bond a second time, and arrested again weeks later when a fourth victim came forward with allegations of abuse.

According to the state's attorney's office, Brochu was reportedly molesting boys at a community swimming pool and offering to buy them snacks to keep the children from reporting the abuse.
