Third Weekend Accident Claims Life of Motorcyclist in Prince George's County

In what has been a deadly weekend for motorcyclists in Prince George’s County, Paul Poston, 60, of the 11400 block of Capstan Drive in Upper Marlboro became the holiday weekend’s third motorcycle fatality following a crash in Forestville.

Prince George's County Police were called to the 8000 block of Cryden Way about 1:40 a.m. Saturday for a single-vehicle accident.

The preliminary investigation suggests Poston lost control of his motorcycle as he left a parking lot. Police said he crossed Cryden Way and struck a brick wall and iron handrail.

Poston died of his injuries Monday at an area hospital.

Two other motorcyclists died earlier this weekend in separate crashes when the drivers of sport utility vehicles failed to yield to the bikes, according to police. 

Allen Joseph Washington, 24, of the 3400 block of 23rd Street in Southeast Washington died Saturday night in a crash at the intersection of Central Avenue and Cindy Lane in Capitol Heights.

And, the weekend’s first fatal crash involving a bike happened about 7 p.m. Friday at the intersection of northbound Indian Head Highway and Wilson Bridge Drive in Oxon Hill. Phillip Walker, 42, of the 2300 block of Medinah Ridge Road in Accokeek died from injuries suffered in that accident.
