Teen Hit by Truck in Tall Oaks Estates, Driver Not at Fault

Early Monday morning, a 16-year-old was struck by a Chevy S-10 after walking into the street.

A 16-year-old Bowie student was taken to the hospital Monday morning after he walked into the street and was struck by a Chevy S-10 pickup truck, according to Bowie Chief of Police John Nesky.

At around 6:49 a.m. the teen walked into the street at the intersection of Peachtree Court and Pin Oak Parkway, when the Chevy truck—travelling southbound on Pin Oak—couldn't stop in time and hit the boy.

The teenager was transported to a local hospital by ambulance and his condition at the time was unknown, according to Nesky. The police report listed the incident as "pedestrian error", so no charges will be filed against the driver, who was not at fault.
