Suspect Flees Bank after Robbery, Cash Flies Out Car Window

Prince George's County Police are looking for a man who left the scene of a bank robbery driving a gray Volvo and wearing a patch over his left eye.

Police have released a surveillance photo of a suspect accused of robbing a Bank of America in Upper Marlboro Tuesday morning.

According to the Prince George's County Police, the suspect walked into the bank in the 14600 block of Church Street about 10 a.m. He walked up to a teller, displayed a gun and demanded cash.

The frightened teller complied, police said, and the suspect fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. Authorities believe the suspect then got into an older-model gray Volvo station wagon and drove away.

Somehow, money started flying out the window as the car sped away from the scene, reports WJLA TV. Police said they are not sure if the money was being thrown out of the car, or if a dye pack exploded, which banks are told to put in cash during a robbery to mark it.

There were no injuries reported, and police said no shots were fired.
