Ronald H. Dixon, the pilot from Thursday's plane crash in Maryland City, was listed in fair condition Tuesday at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.

Dixon, 70, is from Bowie. Authorities said he was the lone occupant of his Beechcraft BE 23 when it crashed into a residential neighborhood shortly after taking off from Suburban Airport

The plane reportedly struck a tree before crashing into two mobile homes, one of which was deemed uninhabitable due to the damage sustained.

Anne Arundel County Police said Dixon was "conscious and alert" after the accident. He was transported to Shock Trauma from the scene.

No injuries were reported on the ground.

An investigator with the National Transportation Safety Board told The Baltimore Sun that the plane's engines lost power shortly after takeoff. The cause of the failure was not immediately known.
