Report: Prince George's County Delegate Beaten, Robbed

District 24 Delegate Darren Swain had his belongings and vehicle stolen last week after he gave a group of young men a ride home in Upper Marlboro, according to NBC Washington.

Maryland Delegate Darren Swain (D, District 24), was beaten and robbed last week in Upper Marlboro after he gave a group of young men a ride home, according to a report by NBC Washington.

Swain—who represents Glenn Dale, Upper Marlboro and Seat Pleasant—gave a group of two or three young men a ride home from an Exxon station at around 3 a.m. When dropping the men off, Swain asked to use the bathroom and was attacked inside the Upper Marlboro apartment, according to the report.

Swain's personal belongings and vehicle were stolen during the incident, though he told NBC Washington he is "okay" and that his belongings have been recovered.

Upper Marlboro resident Keion Naylor, 19, has been arrested and is facing multiple assault and theft charges in connection with the incident.

Swain was tapped by Governor Martin O'Malley to replace former Delegate Tiffany Alston in January.
