The 24-year-old had been holding a stop sign when he was hit, police said.

The Prince George's County man hit by a vehicle in Towson on March 21 while he was directing traffic has died, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.

Alejandro Morales Silver, 24, of Bladensburg, was pronounced dead on March 30 at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, police said.

He was taken to shock trauma on March 21 after he had been holding a stop sign to halt westbound traffic on Stevenson Lane in Towson when a 2013 Honda CRV traveling west failed to stop and ran into him, police said.

Silver, an employee of Olney Masonry Corporation out of Beltsville, was wearing a hard hat and reflective vest at the time of the crash, police said.

It was not immediately available whether charges were filed against the driver, who police said remained at the scene.
