Police: Teen Arrested in Fatal Stabbing of Bowie Man

Asheville Police arrested a 16-year-old boy in the fatal stabbing of a Bowie man in North Carolina over the weekend.

A Bowie man was fatally stabbed over the weekend in North Carolina and local authorities have arrested a 16-year-old boy, Asheville police reported. 

Travis Schoon, 35, of Bowie, was stabbed in the chest around 2:50 a.m. Sunday on North Market Street in Asheville, NC, police reported. According to police, the stabbing occurred outside of a restaurant after an altercation. Although Schoon was transported to a local hospital, he died a short time later, according to police. 

Danras Damoy Bunsie, 16, surrendered to police overnight, police reported. Bunsie is charged with second-degree murder and assault with a dangerous weapon with intent to kill. His bond is set at $750,000.

According to Black Mountain News, Bunsie was place on a long-term suspension from Reynolds High School in February and then withdrew from school in March.
