Police Seek Suspect in Virginia Burglaries

Fairfax County police seek the public's help in identifying a man in surveillance photos.

 

A man who police believe is involved in a series of burglaries in Reston, VA, may have connections to Bowie, Beltsville and Annapolis.

Fairfax County police said the man steals purses and electronics from homes and then travels to Maryland to use the credit cards, according to a press release. Police obtained surveillance photos from stores in Maryland and are seeking the public's help in identifying the suspect.

He is described as black, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall and 160 to 180 pounds. He has short black hair, a mustache and a round face. He has worn a black button-up, short-sleeve shirt and aviator-style sunglasses. He may be driving an early 2000, silver or light blue BMW 5 Series car.

More than 11 homes in the Reston Police District were burglarized starting in April 2011, according to a press release.
