Police Search For Two Suspects Involved in Home Invasion

Attempted "drug transaction" leaves 29-year-old man, 60-year-old woman injured.

Two Bowie residents were injured and robbed Monday night when two men invaded their single family home, Bowie Police Department reported.

The home invasion and robbery, which took place on the 15200 block of Jennings Lane, occurred after a 29-year-old male victim received a phone call from an unknown person wanting to arrange a drug transaction at his home, according to police.

Not long after the call the victim told police that the doorbell rang at his home. When the man opened the door he saw two men running toward him from the side of the home.

The man failed to close the door before the suspects could enter, police said. The suspects began to assault the victim and ask, “Where’s it at?” police reported.

One of the suspects went upstairs and found a second victim, a 60-year-old woman, who he held at gunpoint, police reported.

The man told police that 14 “dime” size bags of marijuana were stolen by the suspects, who left the scene on foot toward the back of the home, according to police.

Bowie Police responded to the scene at 11:03 p.m. that night and set up a perimeter around the area, police said. The Prince George’s K-9 unit conducted a search and police helicopters were on the scene, but the suspects were not found, police reported.

The man endured serious trauma to his face, while the woman only had minor injuries, police said. Both were transported to Prince George’s County Hospital for treatment, according to police.

Prince George’s County Robbery Unit detectives are currently conducting a follow-up investigation, Police Chief John Nesky said.

Both suspects are described as black men, 5-foot-9-inch tall, police said. One suspect has light skin and short hair and was seen wearing a black zip-up hoodie, light blue jeans, light shoes, gloves and a black mask, police reported. He may also posses a silver handgun with black grips that was used during the home invasion, according to police.

The second suspect is slim and has dark skin and dreadlocks, police reported. During the home invasion he was seen wearing a black long sleeved fleece shirt, blue jeans, black shoes, a black head garment and a black handkerchief mask.

Individuals with information on the suspects should contact the Prince George’s County Robbery Unit at 301-772-4905.
