Police: Man Sitting in Road Run Over, Killed

A 63-year-old Forestville man was reportedly sitting in an intersection before he was run over and died. Police are asking the public to call if anyone saw anything.

A Forestville man was reportedly sitting in the street before he was run over by a vehicle Friday night, according to the Prince George's County Police Department.

The victim is James Hughes, 63, of the 3300 block of Springdale Avenue in Forestville. 

A car traveling on Pennsylvania Avenue at the intersection of Forestville Road struck Hughes about 9:15 p.m. on July 4. Officers found Hughes lying in the roadway with critical injuries; he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver remained at the accident site. Police say Hughes appeared to be sitting in the street before he was struck by the vehicle.
