Police Investigating Attempted Child Abduction

A Benjamin Tasker Middle School student reported that a man in a green car tried to convince her to get in his vehicle.

The Bowie Police Department is investigating the report of a possible attempted abduction of a student on Sept. 6.

The student said that a man in a green car repeatedly tried to coax her into his vehicle after school was dismissed that day, according to a Bowie Police release. The girl said the man told her that her mother had sent him to pick her up from school, but the girl refused to get into the car and returned home safely, according to police.

Parents of Benjamin Tasker Middle School students were notified of the incident by a letter from the principal today.
