Police Charge 5 Teens With Burglary, Vandalism

The charges stem from an early morning incident at Bowie High School on March 19.

Bowie police arrested five area teens on burglary and vandalism charges in relation to a break in at Bowie High School, according to a police report.

At approximately 2:30 a.m. on March 19, Bowie police were responding to a report of suspicious individuals on Moylan Drive.

While enroute, there was an alarm call at Bowie High School. Upon investigation, police found that the suspicious parties had gone into two trailers at the high school via open windows. Once inside, the suspects vandalized the property, damaged equipment, and sprayed a fire extinguisher throughout both trailers.

Five suspects were apprehended on the scene—Jounel Washington, 19, of Bowie; Brandon Ford, 19, of Largo; Edgar Cruz-Gutierrez, 19, of Bowie; Bridgette Metcalf, 19, of Glenn Dale; and Dana Leonso, 19, of Bowie.

All five were arrested and charged with burglary and vandalism.
