Police Ask Public's Help Finding Suspect Wanted for Attempted Murder

Steven Dontrell Smith, 21, of Temple Hills is wanted by Prince George's County Police for attempted murder and assault.

A man who allegedly shot another man at an area shopping center following an argument is being sought by the Prince George’s County Police Department.

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating the shooting suspect, who is wanted on charges of attempted murder and first-degree assault.

Authorities are searching for the suspect, identified as Steven Dontrell Smith, 21, of the 5900 block of Fisher Road in Temple Hills.

Officers were called to the 3200 block of Brinkley Road about 1:30 p.m. Thursday for a shooting. Investigators say that Smith and the victim began arguing while in the parking lot of a shopping center. Smith then reportedly pulled out a gun and shot the victim several times. The victim was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
