Police Arrest Three Men in Recent Robberies

Prince George's County Police arrested three area men last week in connection with three armed robberies in Bowie.

Three men arrested last week in connection with an armed robbery at a Bowie gas station have been charged in two other recent robberies in Bowie, according to information released by the Bowie Police Department.

Police arrested Antimieo Dixon, 20, of Bowie, Morris Thornton, 19, of Laurel, and Jonathan Pinkney, 24, of Upper Marlboro and charged them with the armed robbery of the in the 16400 block of Harbour Way, police said.

County police investigators were able to connect the three men to the robbery of the in Bowie Plaza on Jan. 26 and the in Hilltop Plaza on Jan. 25. All three were charged with armed robbery in those incidents.

According to police, two men entered the Exxon just before midnight on Feb. 8 and pushed an employee to the cash register. Police said one suspect pointed what the employee believed to be a gun under a red cloth, while another demanded the employee open the register. The suspects removed money from the register and fled, they said.

A Prince George’s County police officer in the area saw two suspects fleeing on foot across Crain Highway as a report of the robbery was broadcast on the police radio. The officer apprehended one of the men in the 16500 block of Governor Bridge Road and the second suspect was arrested a short time later along with a third suspect who was driving a getaway vehicle, police said.

Police also recovered a Ryobi drill—the weapon used—according to police.

All three men are scheduled to appear in court on March 9 for a preliminary hearing. Pinkney is being held without bond. Dixon and Thornton are being held on a $250,000 bond, according to online court records.
