Pedestrian Hit, Killed at Beltsville Bus Stop

A man who got off a bus was fatally struck by a van as he crossed Muikirk Road in front of the bus, says the Prince George's County Police Department.

A man died after he was hit by van while crossing a road in Beltsville; the victim was not walking in the crosswalk at the time of the accident, according to the Prince George's County Police Department.

The victim is 27-year-old Mohammed Toyin Bello of Ellington Drive in Beltsville. 

Officers called to the 8100 block of Muirkirk Road in Beltsville about 4:50 p.m. Monday found Bello lying in the roadway with critical injuries. He died several hours later at a local hospital.

The preliminary investigation indicates Bello had just gotten off a bus at a bus stop and tried to cross Muirkirk Road in front of the bus. He was struck by a van heading westbound on Muirkirk Road. The driver remained on scene.
