Bowie Auto Service Break-In Baffles

The store appeared "disturbed," but the owner told police nothing appeared to be missing.

Bowie police responded to an alarm at Bowie Auto Service on Old Chapel Road Jan. 8, only to find that while the property had been broken in to, nothing had been stolen.

Police say they responded to the alarm at 2:56 a.m. Wednesday, and once on the scene they found the door to the convenience and payment part of the businesses to be slightly ajar and damaged. Another interior door was found to be damaged, and police reported that areas inside the store appeared to be "disturbed."

The owner arrived on the scene and determined that nothing had been taken. Police photographed the scene, dusted for fingerprints and notified Bowie police criminal investigation division.

There was no surveillance video at the scene.
