More than $500,000 in Pot Seized in Hotel Parking Lot Drug Bust

A suspicious moving van tipped off authorities to a large marijuana bust in Laurel.

More than 180 pounds of marijuana worth an estimated $540,000 was seized during a drug bust at a hotel parking lot Friday in Laurel, reports WBAL TV.

Laurel police told the TV station members of the Laurel Police Department Drug Interdiction Task Force identified suspicious activity in the parking lot of a Holiday Inn Express in the 14400 block of Laurel Place.

Police seized the drugs from what appeared to be a moving van at the hotel. Victor Camarillo, 30, of Henderson, Nev., was arrested on various drug charges. The van was registered to Camarillo, the TV station reported.

Detectives said 180 pounds of marijuana, wrapped in 1-pound individual packages, were recovered. Officers told WBAL the street value of the marijuana is believed to be about $540,000.
