Police Charge Michael Brochu With Sex Crimes Against Fourth Minor Victim

The Bowie man remains in police custody based on charges stemming from his most recent arrest on Aug. 27.

Michael David Brochu of Bowie was arrested by Prince George’s County Police on Aug. 27 and charged with third- and fourth- degree sex offenses and second-degree assault against a fourth minor victim, according to police.

This is Brochu’s third arrest this month. Brochu, 62, and charged with one case and and charged with two more cases. In both instances, Brochu was released on bond.

Through the course of their investigation, police report that they identified a fourth minor victim, and 11-year-old boy, who was allegedly assaulted by Brochu at a local pool in Bowie between June 27, 2011 and Aug. 11, 2011.

Police charged Brochu with sex abuse of a minor, third-degree sex offense and second-degree assault for allegedly abusing a 10-year-old boy between April 1, 2011 and June 30, 2012. He was also charged that same day with sex abuse of a minor and third-degree sex offense for allegedly abusing a 6-year-old family member at a pool in Bowie, according to police.  

As of Aug. 30, Brochu remains in custody with the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections on charges stemming from his third arrest, said PGPD spokesperson Cpl. Maria McKinney.
