Julie Parker Named Public Affairs Director for PGPD

A UMd. graduate and former reporter will take on the role of community relations with the county police.

A former ABC7 reporter will now oversee the Prince George's County Police Department's internal and external communications.

Julie Parker covered news in the D.C. metro region for 13 years with News Channel 8 and WJLA, earned an Emmy, the Regional Edward R. Murrow Award and and Associated Press award for her work.

“The Department looks forward to having the benefit of the skill and dedication that Mrs. Parker has exhibited throughout her career,” said Interim Police Chief Mark Magaw in a press release Tuesday.
