Hyattsville Man Dies from Stab Wounds

A Hyattsville man died Thursday night from stab wounds suffered during an altercation in Cheverly.

A Hyattsville man died Thursday night from stab wounds suffered during an altercation in Cheverly, according to authorities.

The victim has been identified as Duvaughn Ganeous, 46, of the 4900 block of 56th Avenue in Hyattsville.

Officers with the Cheverly Police Department and the Prince George’s County Police Department responded to reports of a stabbing in the 5600 block of Landover Road at about 10 p.m. When they arrived, they found Ganeous suffering from trauma to the upper body a short distance away in the 5400 block of Annapolis Road.

Ganeous was taken to a hospital, where he died about 10:45 p.m., The Washington Post reports.

Detectives are working to establish a motive and identify suspects in this case.
