UPDATE: Precautionary Lockdown at Holy Trinity Lifted; Manhunt Continues

Police are searching the Fairwood section of Bowie for three suspects in connection with an attempted robbery and shots fired, according to police officials.

Update, 11:40 a.m.: Police are currently searching the Fairwood neighborhood for three suspects in connection with an attempted robbery and shooting, according to PGPD spokesperson Ofc. Nicole Hubbard. 

According to police, earlier this morning, a man had just finished walking his dog in the  5400 Epponias Lane in Fairwood when he was approached by three men. The men demanded the victim's belongings, but the he refused to comply.

The suspects then ran from the scene. While fleeing, one suspect turned around and fired a gun at the victim, Hubbard said. The victim was not hit, and the suspects continued to flee. No one was injured, Hubbard said.

The suspects are still at large and are all described as black men in their late teens or early 20s. The first suspect is described as heavyset, with dreadlocks. The second suspect is described as having a skinny build, and with a mohawk and wearing a Redskins hat. The third suspect was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.

Police are still on the scene searching the area. 

Update: 10:34 a.m.: 
The precautionary lockdown at Holy Trinity has been lifted, though police are continuing to search for the suspect.

Original Story, 9:58 a.m.: 
Holy Trinity Episcopal Day School was placed on precautionary lockdown Friday morning while police pursued a suspect who reportedly fired gunshots in the Fairwood section of Bowie, according to city officials.

Police were chasing the suspect on foot. K-9 units and police helicopters aided the search. Although Fairwood is outside of Bowie city limits, Bowie police are assisting Prince George's County police with the search, according to city communications coordinator Una Cooper.
