Hit-and-Run Incident Closes Part of Old Chapel Road Tuesday Night
One driver taken to the hospital, more details to come, say police.
Bowie police closed off parts of Old Chapel Road late Tuesday night as they investigated a hit-and-run incident.
Bowie Police Chief John Nesky said that at about 11 p.m., a Cadillac struck a light pole on Old Chapel Road near Bowie Plaza on Route 197.
The Cadillac then struck a Volkswagen Jetta, Nesky said. After hitting the Jetta, the Cadillac was driven into the Bowie Plaza parking lot where it struck two other vehicles, the police chief said.

Emergency workers had to cut the Cadillac’s driver from the vehicle, Nesky said. The Cadillac’s driver was the only person taken to the hospital for injuries, Nesky said.
There were seven citations issued to the Cadillac’s driver, said Nesky, who added the incident is under investigation and that more information, including the name of the Cadillac’s driver, will be released.
