High Point High School Teacher Charged with Sexually Abusing Student: Police

Andre Brown of Suitland, a teacher at High Point High School, is accused of sexually abusing a student.

A teacher and former coach at High Point High School in Beltsville has reportedly admitted to police that he sexually abused a student at the school.

The Prince George’s County Police Department has arrested Andre Brown, 32, of the 3500 block of Silver Park Drive in Suitland in connection with the sexual abuse of a then 17-year-old girl.

Brown is a teacher and former coach at High Point High School. The student tells police that during the 2013-2014 school year, Brown sexually abused her one time on school grounds. The victim came forward on her own and reported the incident to police.

Detectives arrested Brown on Thursday, May 22, on a charge of sex abuse of a minor. Police say he admitted his involvement in the incident.

According to NBC4Washington, Brown worked as a special education teacher.

Brown remains in custody at the Department of Corrections.
