Glenn Dale Man Charged with Possession of Heroin

Rodney Andrew Medford, 27, was arrested Wednesday after police said they saw drugs in his car during a traffic stop in Glen Burnie.

Anne Arundel County Police arrested a Glenn Dale man Wednesday after they say they saw drugs in his car during a traffic stop in Glen Burnie.

Rodney Andrew Medford, 27, was charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, resisting arrest and other related charges, according to a police report.

Officers pulled Medford over at about 2:40 p.m. Wednesday as he was driving on I-97 southbound in the area of Quarterfield Road in Glen Burnie. Police said that an officer saw drugs fall out of Medford's pocket as he reached into the glove compartment to get the car's registration card and he tried to run away, but was arrested at the scene.

Officers recovered more than 30 capsules of susepcted heroin from the scene.
