Fire on Northcote Lane Displaces 2 People

The exact cause of the fire has yet to be determined, according to a fire department spokesperson.

Two adults were displaced Tuesday after fire ripped through a family room at a home on Northcote Lane in Bowie, according to Prince George's County Fire Department Spokesperson Mark Brady.

Firefighters arrived on the scene in the 15000 block of Northcote Lane just before 2 p.m. Tuesday to see fire showing from a modified garage of a 1-story ranch-style house. The garage had been modified to serve as a family room, according to Brady.

The blaze was quickly extinguished, and two adults who live in the home were located, uninjured. Both will be displaced as a result of damages to the home, Brady said. Monetary damages have yet to be estimated.

The ignition of the fire may be related to a wood stove, Brady said, but the exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined by investigators.
