Fire Causes Damages at Bowie YMCA

Firefighters were able to hold the fire to the exterior, a spokesperson said.

Prince George's County firefighters responded to an early morning fire Thursday outside of the YMCA on 3500 Moylan Drive.

Firefighters arrived on the scene shortly after 4 a.m. to find some roofing materials on the side of the YMCA on fire, according to Prince George's County Fire Department spokesman Mark Brady.

Flames extended to the building's roof, Brady said.

The fire was held to the exterior of the building, he added. No one was found in the building at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
