County Police Shut Down Bowie Theft Ring

Police arrested a Waldorf man who was stealing merchandise from the Nordstrom warehouse in Bowie, and later selling it in his home.

Prince George's County Police have a warrant out for the arrest of Donnell Angelo Norman, 32, for his involvement in an organized theft ring, according to the PGPD blog.

According to police, on June 18 a loss prevention officer at the Nordstrom warehouse in Bowie, where Norman was employed, witnessed him putting merchandise into his car and driving away. Norman then returned to the warehouse and continued working.

Police arrested Norman on June 19 and obtained a warrant to search his vehicle, phone and home. Approximately $40,000 of stolen jewelry, clothing, and other merchandise were recovered, according to police.

Sgt. Aubrey Thompson of the Special Enforcement Division said on the PGPD blog that Norman “would sell it [the merchandise] from his house like it was a Nordstrom Counter.”

Norman was released on his own recognizances while police were conducting the search of his property, and he is reportedly at large.
