Capital Park Police Involved in 3-Vehicle Collision

Two lanes are closed on Route 50 after a Maryland-National Capital Park Police cruiser was involved in a three-car collision, according to Maryland State Police.

No one was injured in the collision, just before Exit 11 on the eastbound side of Route 50, just west of Route 704, according to an MSP spokesman. 

The collision happened at about 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, according to MSP. Officers were on another call at the time; they reached the scene at about 11:30 a.m. There they found a Capital Park Police cruiser, a truck and a van had been involved in a collision.

The cause of the collision is under investigation but, according to MSP.

As of about 12:30 p.m., two lanes eastbound Route 50 remained closed, according to the Maryland Department of Transportation, and the vehicles involved are on the median.
