Bowie Woman Pleads Guilty to Attempted Sex Abuse of a Teen

Loni Haggins, 30, has pleaded guilty to engaging in a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old boy.

Bowie resident Loni Haggins pleaded guilty last week to the charge of attempted sex abuse of a 17-year-old boy, reported W9USA.

Haggins, 30, reportedly met the teen at the DC Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program in 2010 and carried on a sexual relationship with him over the next year that resulted in two pregnancies and the birth of one child, according to W9USA.

DC law requires Haggins to register as a sex offender. Pursuant to state law, Haggins’ guilty plea and sex offender registration in DC will require her to register as a sex offender in Maryland as well, according to the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services website.

Her sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 14.
