Bowie Teen Killed in Ohio Car Crash

Leah Robinson, 15, was thrown from an SUV that lost control on the Ohio Turnpike Thursday.

Bowie resident Leah Robinson, 15, was killed in a car accident on the Ohio Turnpike Thursday when the vehicle she was traveling in lost control, according to Fox8.com in Cleveland.

Officials told Fox8.com that Robinson was in the third row of a Ford Expedition when the SUV lost control on the wet pavement, struck an embankment and overturned. Robinson was reportedly thrown from the vehicle into the road, and later pronounced dead at the hospital.

There were a total of seven passengers in the SUV at the time of the crash, and all but Robinson sustained non-life threatening injuries, reports Fox8.com.

Charges are pending and the incident is still under investigation.
