Bowie Taking Applications for Police Officer
The city of Bowie is accepting applications this week for entry level police officers.
The Bowie Police Department is accepting entry level applications for the position of Police Officer.
If interested, submit a completed City of Bowie Employment Application, Preliminary Applicant Evaluation , Liability Waiver, and a copy of your valid drivers license to the Police Department by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 14, for consideration. Applicants must meet the Police Officer minimum qualifications (detailed below) to be considered.
Applicants will be informed of their eligibility for the examination process by email.

Physical Agility Examination Dates: Thursday, March 20, at 10 a.m. and Saturday, March 22, at 10 a.m.
Entry Level Written Examination Date: Sunday, March 23, at 10 a.m.

LATERAL APPLICANTS
Applications for Lateral Transfers are currently being accepted and will held on file until Police Officer positions become available, or one year from date received, whichever occurs first. Applicants must complete a City of Bowie Employment Application for consideration.

Police Officer Minimum Qualifications
• U.S. Citizenship
• At least 21 years of age upon graduating from the Academy
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid motor vehicle driver's license
• Not more than 1 point on your driving record
• Must be able to pass physical agility test and medical examination
• No felony convictions
