Greenbelt residents Anisha Wilson, 21, and Gary Jenkins, 21, are being charged with multiple counts of theft for stealing packages from homes.

Bowie police arrested two Greenbelt residents last week in connection a series of package thefts in Bowie and throughout Prince George’s County.

Anisha Wilson, 21, and Gary Jenkins, 21, are facing multiple theft charges for allegedly stealing delivered packages from the homes of residents in Bowie and other areas of the county, according to police.

Bowie police give this account of the investigation and subsequent arrest:

During December 2012 and January 2013, Bowie police noted an increase in theft of packages delivered to residents. In response, the department conducted a coordinated effort to surveil and monitor the area where packages were being stolen.

On Feb. 6, officers noticed a suspicious vehicle driving around the Rockledge and Overbook sections of Bowie, looking at homes. Police stopped the vehicle and found several packages with multiple different Bowie addresses in the back seat.

Further investigation led police to a residence in Greenbelt where a second vehicle was searched. Police were able to recover several more packages with addresses through Prince George’s County.

Bowie police contacted the Prince George’s County Police Department and are continuing to work together to locate other victims.

Wilson and Jenkins have both been charged with numerous counts of theft.
