Bowie Police Arrest 2 on Burglary Charges

Suspects allegedly broke into the Mitchellville Road Target early Tuesday and stole numerous iPods and iPads.

Bowie police arrested two Lanham men Tuesday on charges of burglarizing a Target department store on Mitchellville Road and stealing more than $15,000 worth of merchandise, according to a police report.

Officers arrived at the Target at 2:30 a.m. in response to a triggered burglar alarm. Once on the scene, officers found a broken storefront window.

Police said that while establishing a perimeter, an officer saw suspects exit from the back of the store with items in their hands. The first suspect, Mark Phillip Everson, 20, was apprehended almost immediately. The second suspect, Ryan Nicholas Prudhomme, 22, was apprehended shortly thereafter following a foot pursuit through a residential neighborhood.

After investigation, officers discovered that the suspects allegedly used a brick to break the storefront window. Two display cases that housed a variety of iPod and iPad products also were broken with an unknown object.

Merchandise totaling $15,128.86 was recovered at the scene and Everson and Prudhomme were charged with burglary and taken to the Department of Corrections for processing.
