Bowie Man Killed in Fatal Accident

Luis E. Tadeo, 42, was struck by a vehicle and killed earlier today while working on a highway in Cecil County.


A Bowie man was killed earlier today when he was struck by a vehicle in North East, MD.

Luis E. Tadeo, 42, was a contract highway worker, according to a press release. He working in a highway work zone on Pulaski Highway in Cecil County when a vehicle entered the zone at around 9 a.m. on Wednesday and struck him and another man, said Maryland State Police.  

Tadeo, of the 1500 block of Palai Turn in Bowie, and the other victim, 41-year-old Victor Jackson of Washington, DC, were both pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the work zone was clearly marked with traffic cones and other equipment.

The driver of the vehicle, who was uninjured, was taken into custody by police for questioning and released. He is not facing charges at this time. Police are interviewing witnesses, but the speed of the vehicle has not been determined and the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
